How to make your maxi-stream invisable!

Like so many others I am going to give the Maxi-Stream mod a try. I am going to do a MJ900 modification using a single propellor. The only downside I saw to running these in my tank over a closed loop was the 6" powerheads arent to pretty to look at but after just recently browsing through marinedepot I noticed TUNZE produces a decoritive rock that hides it. Ovbiously I cant use this on my modded MJ900's but I was wondering if I were to use my DIY Live Rock Recipe (cement and rock salt) could I encase the engine type part of the MJ900 (making sure to not cover any part of the PVC) with my rock recipe and form a DIY decoritive rock for my modded MJ900? What types of problems do you forsee? I could predict there being some heat issues and maybe the rock might crack from vibration. What do you think. If it works I would also use clear PVC on the mod making the MJ-Stream almost invisable.

All input is welcome

you will just have to cure it a bit like you do with the DIY LR. You could also use the great stuff and inbed CC shells, ect in it like people do with a DIY background Ect.

I dont realy like the look of great stuff, It might be alot esier to do it that way especialy when the MJ900 dies and I need to replace it.

Making it clear is a waste of time in a reef tank. It'll be purple in short time no matter what color you use.

Mix portland cement, aragonite sand, and blue and red rit dye, along with water, and you have an instantly coralline encrusted maxi-jet!

I did this with my overflow tubes and eductors, and it looks so real. (They have yet to be put into service, but someday anyway....)

IME coralline algae just doesn't instantly take off and cover every square inch. I've had MJs in my tank for over a year, and yes, they do get covered in coralline, but not 100%, you can still see some of the black pump.
