Quick tip. I've had a good size RBTA that made a home in a hole in some pukani rock I had that, before he got there, was the setting for a beautiful zoa garden. Of course, once he draped himself over the field of zoas they started to melt away. Then he split. And split again and the zoa garden was about gone. I tried all the tricks I could find on this forum and others to entice them to move: medium...and then high flow of water from a power head...for a week. Several times. Over several months. Nope. Poking, around the base when I could reach it. I even tried holding ice cubes against him. Nothing.
My wife walked by one day and said, why don't you prop a rock over him and see if he attaches to it instead. Huh. It took less than 24 hours and that one went walking. Scooped out and sold. The next one took a week but he let go too.
Prop the rock over top lightly touching the Nem and blocking the light. Don't pinch him against the rock but do feel free to squish him a little and make it confining. If he finds a way to squeeze out but doesn't let go, shift the rock to put him back in the dark. As long as you leave a small escape route he'll eventually get hungry and go walking for light. Genius.
