how to propagate sea whip.

just as it says guys"¦i am wondering how i cut this thing back, preferably to move throughout the tank but also to share the wealth"¦.

i know with my gorgonian i can just cut it with scissors and all is good, can the same be done with the whip?

I love gorgonians. Have about a dozen or so in my tank. Sounds like you already fragged it, but here's the method I use (seems most people do). Cut the desired piece with scissors or a razor blade and then strip the flesh back to expose the 1/2" of the skeleton. Take a piece of rubble or rock and drill a small hole. Fill the hole with super glue or epoxy and stick the gorgonian in there, making sure to not get glue on the flesh as some gorgonians can be sensitive to glue. That's it... pretty easy.

hmmm never thought to trim the flesh off the bottom…makes sense though will keep that in mind…the only thing i have ever done with my gorgs is cut a piece off to give to people as freebees when they buy corals off me…gorg grows so quickly anyway.
