how to quite pump vibration

howdy all,
i was wondering how i could go about quiting the vibrations off of my internal pump? can i place a piece of soft rubber underneath it? and if so what kind of rubber does it have to be? are there any other ways?

I just put a new, white face towel under mine to quiet it. I folded it a few times and made sure there was adequate room between the towel and the intake. I heard that egg crate works well too, but it didn't for me.

If your pump was on the outside then I have used a mouse pad that was pretty think, and I just cut it to size and wedge it between the pump and my glass and it worked just fine...

What size and how is it mounted? If it is just sitting in the bottom of the sump one of the thing mouse pads will do fine or get one of those rubber float pads used by kids in the pool (same kind used to kneel down when gardening) and cut a piece to it as the base for the pump.
If it is a powerhead attached to the wall you can try a suction cup in between the pump and the wall.

rubber feet work great for me...they have glue on one end...i have them on my mag 9.5 - silent
