How to tell if clownfish is pregnant?

I have a true percula clownfish, and I was wondering if they can lay eggs with no male present? I know that they wouldn't be fertile, but could they lay eggs? I only have one, and it seems like her "chest" area, is swollen, and when she swims toward the lights, you can see through her a little bit, and it is way darker than any other part of her. She seems to be staying in a small area of caulerpa, where it is shaped like a sort of cave. She does venture off, but not too frequently. If clownfish had human-like lungs, I would think they were inflated. It is just a small area, where the lungs would be that is inflated. I hope nothing is wrong with her...

Clownfish females grow big at the middle abdomen, not the "chest" at spawning time, and it would be unlikely that she would produce eggs without a male around... It might be best to post your question on the Clownfish and anemone forum. They will know more about what may be ailing your fish. Sorry, and I hope she pulls through.
