How to tell if MH bulb is good or not?

How can you determine how old a Radium MH bulb is? At $90 a clip I want to see if this one is still good before I purchase two new ones? I am cleaning out my equipment rack and found three MH bulbs. The two XM's the filament area is pretty black so I tossed them.

The Radium barely has any black on the edges of the filament and the center looks pretty clean.

Give it a try, and see if you grow nuisance algae or if you grow color lol i cant really recommend any other ways that i know of

Measure the PAR is the only way to tell. Maybe you can borrow a PAR meter from someone.

oh yeah, forgot to mention one old school way of knowing if it was good or not, launch it at a wall, and if it breaks its no good..... go buy new one lol haha
