How to unbleach a micro / acan

A few of my micros have bleeched. They are not dead, just turning white. What can I do to reverse this? Can it be done? Well I know it can, just how do I do it? THANKS TPG

I had a couple acans do it in the past, and very low light brought them back nicely. Try shading them well. I also target fed them about once a week.

Am I reading your sig. correctly...400W MH over a 30gal? If that is the case then I would deff. say they need some shade. It may take a them a while to acclimate to that intense of lighting..

I still target feed every 2-3 days. I hear what u guys are saying, but all of the them but a few (I have about 30 morphs) are aquacultured. They are all used to high powered metal halide lighting. I run a standard magnetic pfo ballast with 20k bulbs so I am not sure that is what it is. I hope so. I had already moved them all under ledge/shade a few days ago. What kinda time frame can I expect for a recovery? It is about 15 polyps of some pretty expensive morphs and I dont want to lose them. THANKS... TPG

Even with AC frags, 400w MH is entirely too much light for most micros imo. While some may show stress sooner than others do not assume the others are all happy with the situation. For a 30g, a 250w would be the most I'd recommend.

PS- how deep is the tank (top to bottom)?

For what it's worth, the only micromussa I have has gone from 4 polyps to more than 20 in 4 months under 400w 10ks, though my tank is likely a bit deeper than his 30.

Jen is right though from the point that she says even though they will tolerate the 400watts.. they may not be happy... especially if they came from a lower light tank when cultured. I find ALOT of color morphing when frags come or go from high light to low or vise versa... mine are all under 250 watt 20K radiums and I really think that in a shallow bed this is sufficient BUT if say the tank were umm 30+ inches deep now 400 watts would be nice.
