I was at stlsaltwater's place this evening, to check out some rock he had and some corals I was considering buying from him.
To put it bluntly, it was the largest single pieces I have seen personally. He had a piece of tonga that at the base looked to me to be 5 - 6 inches in diameter. I could be under estimating the size. There was another piece, not Tonga, that was probably at least 40 to 50 pounds!!! It has been my experience so far that the rock you see around is somewhat less in size and weight.
I guess these would be show pieces. I think the big piece he had probably would not fit in my 58!!! I'd have to bust the monster in half.
I should have considered it too, because he offered it for $3.50 a pound. He said he has about 150 lbs left too. Give stlsaltwater (Tony) a PM if you are looking for some nice show size pieces.
Some of you have met me in person. I'd say the base of that huge Tonga piece was almost as big around as my neck, and I am not a small guy.
