I have found a mantris in my live rock. He is a fiesty little guy. I dont' want him and would be willing to give up, if someone would please tell me how to get me out of my tank. I don't know to attach the picture to this thread, but I saved it in the photo gallery under my user name. Take a look!

hey i pmed you about takin the little guy if you still see him in that rock take out that rock and hold it over a bowl then spray or pour freshwater into the hole he should come right out :)

just from the tiny picture it looks as if it might be a peacock I will take him in an instant I have a nice 29 waiting for him down here. 32765 to be shipped, hold him for me he looks like a beaut

Right now I am having difficulties getting him out of his lair. I have been feeding him salad shrimp from the store and it seems to keep him full so he doesn't eat anything else in the tank. I have been poking a stick in his whole every once in a while to let him know I am watching him. He seems to have quite the personality will his little eyes. He pokes them out of his whole from time to time to see if we are watching him. Before we realized what he was and started trying to catch him, he would always come out of his whole like the picture.

Anyways, I am afarid to try the fresh water trick because I think that will kill the other things on my rock. My question is: will it kill the other things on my rock??

It seems a lot of people want him and don't know what to do. Any advice would be nice. Thanks EAngel

freshwater trick will not harm other things on your rock espcially if you use something similar to a turkey baster to shoot directly in his whole if this for some reason does not work then I can help you fashion a trap for him anymore pics would be great. I have a mantis and there is another person that I am working with to get one from. If someone locally wants him feel free to go with them but just let me know if you need anymore help with the little guy. GOOD LUCK

definatly not a peacock, but you should easily be able to find someone locally to pick him up. They might even trade something for him.

i have one in a 55gal have never seen it but hear it clickig away
what i would like to know as well is how to get him out with out really knowing where he is?
