I have 21x flow rate (good or bad) - Is there such thing as too much?

Well I added an extra MJ which brings my total to 1075 gph in my 55g which is about 21x flow rate. I am not counting the skimmer nor the HO filter.

Whats your take? I do keep Candy Cane corals, a brain coral, Xenia, Torch, and some polyps in the tank.

Too much or just fine?

Personally I'd say it's a little on the light side, although for softies it could be just right.

The right amount of flow is as much as you can get in there and still have happy corals -- so it varies based on what you keep. I keep a mixed reef, and at 32X I'm right at the point where some of my mushrooms are irritated so I've stopped there... Plus even at 32X it's a bit of a pain to keep the SSB in place.
