Hi!

I have som questions about 2 of my new sps corals.

I add som pics of them so you can see them,

pics 1: This is a montipora, this coral have been in our tank for a week, When i bougth it its var dark brown the green pholyps, And now its Mutch lighter brown. It is normal? It stands whery high in the tank so it get enough light.

Pics 2: This is a Hydnopora. I bought it yesterday, Its been in the tank for 24 hours now. The polyps is not out yet, How long time should it takes before the polyps is out?

I be happy for answers :spin3:

A little more information would be very helpful in helping you. What lights do you have? And what are your parameters (Ca, Alk, Temp, nitrates)? And how long has your tank been set up? What do you have for flow?

New SPS in my tank have polyps out within minutes. I would check parameters and move the monti and wait on the hydno if the parameters are within limits.

IMO not that it's worth much. If you're worried about bleaching the monti move it to an area of lower light. I run T5's too and some montis I've bleached in my tank. There are alot of variables though. Such as what conditions it was kept in before you got it such as lighting and water quality. I had a hydno that took a couple of weeks to settle in my tank before I had real good polyp extension. I wouldn't worry too much about it since you haven't had it but a day. Just make sure it's getting enough good alternating flow.
