what is the carbon cap?

Both the air and water leaving the skimmer must be run through activated carbon to get rid of any excess ozone & odor

I've been going back and forth on which skimmer I want and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a 200. Anyone know how long the wait is right now? Dying to try one of these! :p

Well I've been running the I-Tech skimmer 200 with the Tunze pump for a week now and o'boy am I happy. I replaced a DAS EX1 which skimmed nicely but with a 4" cup compared to the 8" cup well no comparison. I had to empty the DAS on the third day around an inch so of skimmate, or else it would not skim any more with a packed dirty neck. The I-Tech ran for 5 days with over 3 inches of yes-smelly dark green skimmate in the cup and I could have allowed it to continue skimming because the foam was still going in the cup. The I-Tech skimms consistently except for feeding time and hands in the tank, which drop the foam head a few inches below the neck, and recovers within an hour. I don't have access to a dwyer meter so I don't know how much air the Tunze is pulling, but as with the bubble plate skimmers the bubbles travels straight up and foam into the cup no more side turbulence. I don't see any bubbles coming out of the skimmer exit tube so that’s nice. So far, for the money I cannot think of, or know of a better cone skimmer. They all produce a nice head of foam but at what cost was my deciding factor.

Just re-measured and it's sitting in exactly 6" of water and set on the third dot which as I can see is the mid dot.

Edit
Just put a Dwyer meter on the tunze thanks to Melev and measured just over 10 (lpm I think thats the measurement).

Well, I'm on "THE LIST" for a nice Father's Day present. I'm getting an iTech 400 and going to use an Askoll 1500. As others stated John's responsiveness/customer service has been AWESOME! I asked a few questions, he responded quickly each time. I'm excited to give these a shot and hope John gets big enough to run a full business for manufacturing his skimmers. Big enough to have a couple employees so he can enjoy more time with his family.

Oh, I bought an iTech 100 w/Tunze pump for a nano project too, 24"x24"x20" with a 10gal sump. Excited to get the 3am phone call, but will I be able to handle it?

JJFly - You will be very happy with the iTechs. I love my 100, the best part about it I never have to touch it. It just skims like mad, no constant adjustments:)

The 100 is an awesome skimmer. Once dialed in you don't have to touch it and it skims like a champ. I replaced my Euro-reef and it is like night and day.
