I now have 7 batches of seahorses. The oldest is 7 weeks and growing like weeds and eating mulched mysis. I have 29 from that batch. The next is 6 weeks and I have 19 from that bunch. They are eating pretty solid too... I hope i can get them to the 3 month mark. I have made my own formula to feed and that seems to be working pretty good. I do not know how to post pics but if someone will coach me i will try to post pics.

Way cool - we have been quite the breeding club recently. Er... Fish, etc, that is. :)

No kidding! Too bad my bettas were unsuccessful this time.

Teresa,

Congrats! That is wonderful. Care to share your food formula.

On another note. I notice you love big dogs. I am involved in a rescue group....know anyone who would give a Great Dane a loving home?

Sheryl

I have a rescue giant that was found starving to death that i am trying to nurse back to health. He is very food aggressive but still tolerent of people and his food. Just other dogs.....

Serra,
PM me about your great dane. Another huge mouth to feed couldn't hurt!

Doug - pubic? - you just had to go there, didn't you? Shame on you! On another note, there is a species of seahorse called comes. Pronounced the same way as the club, just spelled a little different.

Again Teresa - congrats. I have been unsuccessful at getting any past the 3 month mark yet. Thought I had one that was going to make it, but he died 3 days short. I hadn't tried mysis yet. He was still on cyclopeeze. Oh well, after tax season........

Sounds like you're doing a good job with the young uns. I have a couple of batches of Erectus on the go myself (6 weeks and 3 weeks).

Could you describe your setup and your frozen food mix? How did you get them all eating?

Carolyn

At one week I start mixing frozen bbs with the live bbs then at the second week i started using a formula that consist of enriched brine shrimp bbshrimp and mysis. I blend it in a NON people using blender(they bought it specially for me because they didn't want their milk shakes tasting like fish juice........).

It is currently working for me....anyway. We will see the 3 month mark soon so will hope we have luck with it.......

Fist week they are in 2 1/2 gal plastic bowls then moved to a 10 gal then after they are about 2" moved to a 30 gal or 20 gal. Whatever i have at this point. The fish room will not be done until the first of may or so. That is why the fish are now practicing birth conrol....................We have to make sure there are no permit problems and how to dispose of excess saltwater properly. Been to the deq and talked with about 5 guys. I thought we were not going to get an answer to our questions but finally found someone who told us what not to do.

well, birthcontrol has not kicked in yet. another new batch born this am. Around 90 babys. We'll see how they go. Now one more pg male to go and then the birth control kicks in.......

My 60 is a hex and i have a rena2 and a 28ohob, but i have a problem with keeping it clear. I am not sure if it is the hex style or somethign else. Definately not water flow.............It just looks murkey all the time. I think it could be algea free floating because the tank is next to a window. With shutters but some light gets thru. sorry so late on replying, been busy trying to make more space with three more bunches of babys born, one out of our prize pinto. It was a small clutch, but i am doing my best to keep them alive.
Teresa
