I want a beautiful prized fish

I have a 90 Gallon and I want a beautiful prized saltwater fish. I had a Melanurus Wrasse (which I think I may get) when I had a smaller tank and sold it. I want a Wrasse, Tang, or any fish that's beautiful and swims around the whole tank. Not a fish that swims in one place all day. Any suggestions?

Any of the fairy wrasses will do earls. Lineatus. Jhonsons . Rhomboids are all very active and beautiful and all of them r expensive

Yes they r if u get a pair and male flashes to the female they look like a totally different fish

It helps a lot to know a person's budget and experience before recommending any fish. There are so many awesome fishes, but which one to keep all depends on the aquariat's skill level. In general, but certainly not always, if one needs asking what the rare or expensive fish are, then they may need a little more experience in the hobby. There are plenty of "look at my kewl fish that most of you can't or don't want to afford" threads in the reef fish forum, but on the flip side there are plenty of great fish that do come in at less than $100 or even $50, and just like many of the more expensive varieties the require a higher skill level and patients in finding them.

I love my Manderian and Flame angels are beautiful. Also some of the Lionfish are flashy and amazing to look at. It all depends on your tank and your taste

When I posted this thread it was a little past 1am. I wasn't as descriptive as I usually am.
Budget: $50-$60.
Experience: What qualifies as experience? Years? Corals kept? Fishes kept? (not being funny)
My question is not the case of being inexperienced, nor about what's rare and expensive.
I have beautiful fish (Blue Hippo, Mandarin, Yellow Eye Kole, Very small Six lined Wrasse) I'm looking for more of a "Center Piece" fish.

I love my Manderian and Flame angels are beautiful. Also some of the Lionfish are flashy and amazing to look at. It all depends on your tank and your taste

Thanks! Yes Mandarins are very beautiful, I have one myself. I had a Flame that was very beautiful also, but it was eating my Starburst polyps so I sold it lol.

There are many beautiful wrasses in the $50-60 range... unfortunately the 6 line that you already have, may prove to be a problem if you try to add another wrasse.

True and I questioned mos def. That's why I went with a very small one (nickel size) that was in the same tank as McCoskers and other Fairy Wrasses. My Wrasse would be much bigger which would help prevent any bullying from the Six lined. Plus my tank size adds to the comfort.

If you're referring to the holding tank at the LFS, it really doesn't matter that it was with other wrasses
My last 6line killed a much bigger fairy and bigger flasher in a 170g tank. My advise is to remove the 6 line ...a $10 fish that can become a pita, is not worth keeping, IMO.

Lol so true I had one in past and also a Melanurus Wrasse. The two Wrasses never bothered each other but the six lined and the Yellow Candy Striped Hog would always go back and forth. I gave the Six Lined away. I know it's a cheap fish but the coloration and shape of the Wrasse is what I love. After searching, asking, researching, I'm going to just get another Melanurus Wrasse. I had a 55 Gal before and now I have a 90 to give it more swimming room.

You are a bit handcuffed by the wrasse you already have. I find anthias to be amazing, even the ordinary and cheap ones like my Stocky pair.

Anthias are amazingly colorful fishes. Yes most fairy wrasses are softies. I love the Six Lined. That is my Kryptonite. So I'll stick with the Halichoeres Species. Thanks ツ
