I just got home from work today and I see these worm like things that look like the killer worms from the movie Tremmors. Any body know what they are?

do they look like these?
if so, they are brisstle worms..
and they are harmless.

Historically, bristleworms were all considered to be bad. Most literature warns that they can attack and eat clams, anemones, corals and even fish.
Small bristle worms pose no threat to other tank inhabitants and are in fact good scavengers -some large bristleworms can be aggressive predators.

yea i saw some of those also. but there were also these darker color ones and they were a little inflated and looked like what the apple cuc has

Be careful if you handle it as the bristles will get in and under your skin, like fiberglass fibers. I picked up a rock once and got a handful of bristles under the skin of my palm. It took well over a month for my hand to completely heal. It itches like crazy, and my palm peeled.

You sure your palm problems were due to a bristle worm????
j/k....lol :)

Oh real mature Mel :p

I had bristleworms take up residence in my zoanthid colonies in my nano. Every time I cut them to make a frag I would itch and sting like crazy on my hand. Bastards. I would go one by one pulling all the bristles out of my fingers.

I remember hearing somewhere that Dottybacks eat them, which wouldn't suprise me much since I havn't seen a single bristleworm in my 120g, whereas my nano is filled with them, and they have shared rocks.
