Any idea what this coral is? A friend gave it to me.

I actually have some green hydnopora and this does not look like it. Close but differrent. Thanks for the thought.

could be a very happy millepora. I'm not getting scale on the pic.

If you look at the top left you will see a bluelegged hermit crab. That crab is about the size of a dime. Could this be a red hydnopora? Is there such a thing?

I've got the same thing, I belive its a SPS coral though..

doesnt look like any milli i have ever seen (based on growth). i would agree with hydnophora. thats what came to mind when i first saw the pic, then supported by everyone elses ID.

It looks like a pavona, cabbage coral...

you can get a green or a brown version... I wouldn't class it as an LPS... more of an sps (IMO)... I may be wrong though...
