Id please

i was looking im my tank last night and i found something covering a rock in the back.. i tried taking a picture of it and it didnt come up well on the camera.. it looks like a brownish white color with tiny spines sticking up all over.
ive looked up photos and its looks close to a
Giant Elephant Ear mushroom
or
Encrusting Montipora

what are these? ive only had my live rock for a week now.
