In person, the colors are dependant on the light and the angle the animal is viewed at. For instance, one of my maxima clams that is blue viewed from overhead is purple when viewed through the glass.
In pictures, the colors will also be dependant on the photo-editing software used. In this particular case, I'd guess the animals colors are quite different from the photograph.
