depends what kind of acan it is, subchintia, enchintia, lord, etc. if it is a lord than its a good deal but if its not its just average.

They're hardy as sin. They will kill most other corals that fall on it. They grow quickly. They are easy to frag, and are tolerant of most light and current conditions.

If you like the coral, purchase it. You can't go wrong with acans.

Make sure it's not 29.99 per polyp....

If it's a nice one it'll be way more then $30 a polyp. I've bought some awesome pieces. $200+ a polyp.

But now you should be able to find some really nice Aussies. More then $30 a polyp. But not $100's.

Acans need gentle intermittent current, medium lighting i.e. PC/VHO and most importantly regular feeding with a variety of coral foods.

The lord acan is much fleshier that the ecinata. Lords usually are striped, while the echinata are two toned. There is a good selection at liveaquaria.com if you want to see the difference.

well, here's the lil fella. 4 large heads and like 5 lil babies!

I have mine in strong current. They get POUNDED with MH. I never feed mine. I never find my micromussa either, too much of a pain.

They're pretty tolerant sea creatures.

ive been turkey-bastin the lil guy w/ mysis and enriched brine, etc.

i really like it.

They are definitely cool and fun corals to have. I like acans only second to acros.

I'll tell you what's a fun coral to have, dendrophyllia. Those things are very fun to feed.
