Does anyone know what this Acro is?
I am Going to call it Purple Sherbet henceforth regardless, but
I would like a scientific I.D. if anyone has it.
The base is Green, Body is White, and Tips are Purple, Polyps are
light Green. I bought it as a bleached out coral and the colors
Have come in this way. Neat litte Acro, and seems like a fast grower.

The Green is much more pronounced in person.
BTW does Anyone know how to get the colors to show up better
on a Cannon S3is?

My guess is a valadia either way I have 2 frags in my tank and its prone to red bugs attacking it first.

Good to know about the bugs it should be easy to see them on the white. Also, if it is Valida I'm still gonna call it Purple Sherbet Valida because I have other Validas that look very different. I have been dipping all my new SPS in Revive and if there are Red Bugs, They jump off and Die :)

validas are the most common for getting acropora eating flatworms too, so make sure that you have dipped that guy and inspected for acro eating flatworm eggs.

Actually to be considered Tri-Color it would have bright green polyps, I have the Bali Tri-color as well. This has been in the tank for Months and the color stabalized about a month ago. I still prefer Purple Sherbet Valida to typical Valida :) to describe this coloration.

It does look similar to this one... Less the green around the shaded spots

The last photo you have hear looks more typical of tri-colors available in this area, at least. I would think that yours would color up to be a tri-color per the local verbiage. But I do like the name purple sherbert better!

Thanks, It has more green than you can see in the pic and it reminds me of a sherbet ice cream I have seen. I am pretty sure it's done coloring up at this point, but I'll let you know if it changes.

O.K. so I got some info on the history behind this little sneaker.
It is from a Colony that none other than JGONZ has. Apparently,
When I bought it from H20 when they were shutting down. JGONZ
had sold or traded some to them.
(( I thought those plugs looked familiar))
Anyway he has the hisory of where he got it from, and either I or he will elaborate on this post.
He and others agree that Purple Sherbert is a cool name for this
coloration.
This is a cool hobbie --> :) <--
Don't ya think?
It's just so cool to see these babies alive and growing.
"NERD ALERT"
anyway thanks for the posts and hopefully we can get the history
up on this baby, and if you already have a piece of Purple Sherbert ?? than consider yourself lucky.
It is a way cool part of our planet.... More to come
