anyone willing to lend me their battery back up? the electricity in my building will be out the entire day on november 2nd...hoping i can let one 6025 run to keep the tank going.

sorry no help here, if i had one i would let you borrow it. why is the power going to be off the entire day???

yeah it works to keep the water flowing, i dont think you could hook everything up though. Also the bigger the battery the longer it will go. I believe there was a thread awhile back about a guy making a backup that was powered by a car battery?

yeah i figure that was my worse case scenario...just dont want to waste the $$ for this one time deal. where i live if the power ever goes it's only for 10 mins or so...but they are doing some work on the breakers for the whole building so power will be off from 8am-5pm :(

jose, got any car batts laying around at the shop? :D

Even a battery backup won't last that long. I have a UPS that I can *maybe* get 1 hour out of (more like 30 min with a 6025)- enough time to get home and turn on battery powered air stones (like for minnow buckets). Do you have one of those? Those may be your best bet.

thanks for the tip logan..really it wont power the tunze for that long? that's not good news

i dont have any of the battery powered air pumps...need to pick some up. this thing was me worrying a bit. i am thinking i'll wrap the tank in a blanket to help slow the temp drop.

How about staying home and stirring up the water manually every 10 minutes? :p
seriously some of those battery operated air stones might work best for you. I unfortunately dont have any batteries lying around, the boss is very specific about keeping used parts, basically he doesnt want them anywhere near the shop.

I don't know if you have a deck/porch for a generator but that's an option? I didn't go the route of batter/invertor or UPS because of the price and endurance limitations. The downside of the generator is that it needs to be outside. It also has to be struck up manually and cannot be automated in the event of power failure if your gone for more then a day. I got an "almost new" 2500 watt generator on ebay for $75.
