In Phoenix next week

Hello all

I will be in the Phoenix area all next week, actually at Sacaton. I would like to get some advice on what stores in the area to visit as well as see if there is any sort of events going on regarding reef keeping, auctions, etc. I will be in town from tomorrow afternoon through next Sunday afternoon.

Thanks in advance.

For stores, I'd recommend About the Reef in Tempe:

406 S. Price Road Tempe Az. 85281

Really no events going on that I know of, there is an auction on the 15th but you'll be gone by then. Maybe Ed's coral sale on the 8th - but that is down in Sierra Vista which is a few hours south of Phoenix. You can see his thread here if you are interested:

Thanks.
I actually arrive today and depart this coming Sunday the 2nd.

I will check that store out.

I want to thank you for having me down Saturday. I had a great time.

It was great meeting you all and getting to see the tank before you tear it down. It truly is a shame to see a tank like that come down, of course the trade off is one I could probably make as well considering where your moving too. The colors on your corals and the growth that they exibit is awesome, the pictures on here just don't do them justice.

Good luck with the sale next weekend, I wish that I was going to be around for it.

Thanks again.

It was great meeting you Billy. Thanks for coming all the way from Iowa for a lobster-and-crab-and-steak cookout! :)
(oh yeah, thanks Ed for the meal)

Mike glad to do it, I had a great time also (Commissary had a big Sea Food Sale.)

Billy, it was nice to be able to show the tank off to a fellow Iowan, and have you go back and tell my student (Bullet) how his mentors tank is doing. Even though he went to the dark side (BB!!) sorry Bob!

I hope when I retire I can find a job back home and join the great bunch of reef keepers there. Thanks for hand carrying the frags for Bob back to him. Hope the ones you got are doing well also.

The frags all have polyp extension and are doing good. Hopefully I will have at least half the success you have with your tank in growth and coloration.

Mike it was nice meeting you as well. It sure makes the travelling I do a lot easier when you can find a nice group of people to hang out with when you go somewhere. Sure makes time avay from home pass a little faster.
