anyone have these guys? reef safe? meanies?? anyone have any info on them

Ive got one. he is a big baby- sticks around his cave most of the time, making random, brief, appearances, then running off to his hiding spot again. I do Really like him though, and would love to get a few more.

Ive had no issues with aggression; he and my ocellaris are always within about 6 inches of eachother, and there are no problems. I dont know if I would trust them with very small shrimp, but otherwise, I think theyre great fish. Unbelieveable color.

I have had 2 and the first one was very mellow totally different from my Neon dottyback the second one I just received from someone who had it shipped to him from ORA and he didn't want 2 of them. I have had him for 2 days now and he is out and about with no problems with my anthias and fairy wrasses. I have actually seen them for sale at Petco for 30 bucks.

They're not as aggressive as most other dottybacks, but it does vary by individual. I have had a couple that were mean as satan. But as a whole they're model reef citizens.

I have seen posts were some have kept them with orchid dotty's (one side of their genetic tree). Has anyone kept them long term with the orchids ?

We have an indigo with an orchid and ended up with the two mating on a regular basis. The indigo is the female. They are with a few fairy wrasses and a mated pair of gold stripe maroons and no issues.
