"The common name of these deposit-feeding annelids from the family Terrebellidae is Spaghetti Worms. But let's face it - how many people can spell "spaghetti" correctly on the first try? We sure couldn't. Hence the name, Mama Mia. These highly active worms have bright red buccal tentacles which extend out over the sand bed to gather suitably sized" LMAO that is too funny

im book marked this site . looks like they sell stuff for hte clean up crew. thanks for bringing htis to our attention

Are they a good deal. They make it sound good anyways. My tank has cured now for 8 weeks. I bought good quality live rock from reefermadness and premium aquatics but have yet to see any critters what so ever. i read somewhere that it takes months for the critters to come from deep within the rock after the curing process. But like most of us I want to see something crawling around in there. Thats why I was looking at IPSF website. Will the life in my figi and tonga live rock eventually come out?

ohh yeah it takes months. i had feather dusters and snails appear after 6 months on my last tank

I would skip the clams atleast until your tank matures 6 months or so. Some good quality live sand is about all you need, get some from various vendors for more diversity. From what I've read Billsreef has the best LS.

To the best of my knowledge the clams are filter feeders and require atleast daily feeding of phyto and/or a healthy breeding population of "pods" and LR/LS infauna. Primarily they are sand bed stirers. They could be a good addition for sand bed, but they generally wont do well in a newly established tank, and they dont even necessarily do well in more mature tanks unless enough food is present in the water column.

Here's a link with Dr Ron's opinion regarding the IPSF clams.

I've purchased from them many times and have always been happy with the products. I would avoid the clams unless you are dosing DT or something for other clams and critters though. The trochus they sell are great as are the worms etc. Nice people to deal with too.
