Is 250w enough for my tank?

My tank is a 56 gallon column (30x18x24). Im running an aquamedic 250w pendant with a brand new 14k bulb. I s this enough lighting because i heard it was not.

I see no reason this light would be sufficient. Is this the only light you have? You may have to place the more light demanding corals directly under the light and less light demanding off to the sides.

The only issue you might have is dark spots on the sides of the tank. A MH pendant usually has about a 24x24 inch spread. I have a 250w pendant on my 30g cube which is 20 inches high and I can grow SPS on the sandbed, so I don't think depth will be an issue for you.

I can not figure out why my sps grow, then stop. In the last four months my monti cap has barely grown, but has great color. I have 2 koralia 3s, a mag 7return, and an aquaclear 70 over the pillar of rock with my sps adding additioal flow. All my levels are in check, im testing with all salifert and i dose 2 part and keep my levels stable. I just ordered a phosban reactor, because i have a little more algea on my glass than i like but no nusiance algea. Im using all ro water and do weekly water changes of 5 gallons.

sometime corals seem to go thru groth spurts and then slow down. I have noticed when ever I might knock a coral over and break a piecs off it will shoot out growth realy fast. When you hook up the phos reactor start out slow or half the recommended use of gfo or you could shock your corals.
