316 would be better. Whats the application?? If your looking for screws or other hardware that wont rust, it should be fine, but a good coated deck screw would work just as well. If your thinking about a heat exchanger or something that will be in water or hold water for the long term, then titanium would be much better. You'll eventually have problems with the stainless.

Awesome explaination
I just bought a seat that has 304SS and was wondering if the splash will corrode it, although I corroded many kitchen utilsels just washing my hands and the splash caused drops of rust spots if I didn't catch it.
