Is my clam dying?

Hello all,
I recently got back into salt tanks and bought a used setup complete. It is a 60gal. with built in back filter, I replaced the bio balls with live rock, it's got a bakpak skimmer, 175w MH, 2 55w pc, I beleive over 100lbs. live rock, 2 1/2" sandbed and powerheads inside for current. I transfered the tank about a month ago moved all the water with it. Been monitoring the levels and amonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, alk seem fine. My Ca is low at 360-370 and been adding Bionic.

It came with some livestock: blue Crocea?, Xenia, Hammerhead coral, SPS?, and everything seemed to be doing well.

The blue Crocea(this is what I think it is) was looking fine until about 3-4 days ago when I shot some Micro vert into it. After doing a search I know now that this was wrong.:eek2: His mantle seems less pronounced and his opening looks wide open. He hasn't come out of it and doesn't respond to light as much as he did but still responds. In the last couple of days his mantle seems to have recessed where his big opening is and I can see the inside of his shell on that side and the rest of his mantle still doesn't open up as much as he did.
BTW, I have him on the rocks about 8" from the top of the water almost directly underneath the MH.
Is there anything I can do to save him?
thanks,
Al

Direct squirting is very bad, but you know this already.

Is it possible to put a gentle stream of water over him, perhaps he is choaking on the food and perhaps it spoiled inside. This is just a guess.

My Squamy clam didn't like it when I lightly fed the tank microverts, so I stopped.

Yep. Big no-no. On top of that Micro-vert may be too large for clams as they can only use the smallest particles. You likely choked him.

Hope he recovers!
Jeff
