Is my clam growing?

I have a crocea clam up on some rocks under a 250w/14k DE MH. He's about halfway up and looks pretty happy.

Well, anyway, I've noticed he's growing a white ridge around the mouth. It's about a 1/3 an inch. I've only had him for 3 months. Could he be growing? Or is something else happening here?

by mouth do you mean the shell opening? clams don't really have a mouth, they have an intake which is often called the mouth and a 'tube' on the other end.

growth of clams is indicated by a white rim around the shell opening. they also put on weight inside the shell which isn't noticeable.

Yep, sorry... I meant shell opening. What I don't get is... it seems to be growing out at quite an angle to the rest of the shell. Oh well... as long as it's growing I suppose that's good.

Croceas will grow shutes like Maximas and Squamosas but they are very thin and easly broken off,it sounds normal
