Is my clam ok on its side?

I came home today to see my 1.5" makima toppled over. In a previous thread I mentioned how my snails and hermits have been climbing on it and making it fall. Well, it's on its side in the sand right next to the LR. When I went to put it back I couldn't, it's bonded to the LR...on its side. Is this ok? Good news is that I haven't seen any hermits or snails bothering it anymore. Thanks everyone.

You may want to adjust the rock it adhered itself onto so the mantle of the maxima is somewhat upright. falling onto its side is no biggie and usually they would stretch their mantle to receive the maximum light exposure. However, for the health of the clam, you should give it a boost by making the adjustment for it. Wedge the shells between rocks have worked for me to keep them from falling over.

Just don't wedge it so tightly as to interfere with the clam's opening & closing. Allow room for growth as well.

I had this happen with my maxima. I took the rock he was attached sideways to, and put another rock underneath it to make a sort of fulcrum. The T. Max was kind of dangling. After about a day or two, it let go by itself, and I was able to set it on a small rock where it attached, and I can move that rock wherever I want.
