Is my Crocea asking for it?

My clam has moved so that now when its mantle is extended some of it overlays onto my trachphyllia brain. Is the clam asking for it? I've yet to see any indication of a problem but this has only been going on for less than a week. Should I make a point to move them apart?

Makes complete sense. This clam is the most stubborn pet I've ever messed with. Even more stubborn than my Jack Russell. It finally has come to rest, stopped moving around, digging holes, and jumping off rocks and wouldn't you know it...it stops on the brain. I figured that would be the answers. Thanks.

In Giant Clams by "Daniel Knop". He claims that clam mantles are not effect by the sting tentacles of other corals. So if you want to leave the clam near the brain. It shouldn't be an issue.

Now that is very interesting, Typhon. Tell you what, though. For my peace of mind, I'll most likely move it.

I would too. I don't know how the clam's mantle affect the brain. He never mention that in the book.

Typon, how long have you lived in Charlotte? I lived up there for 1.5 years around '95-'97 and really enjoyed it. Cool place. Its just not home where I live now. I'm actually headed up that way come November to North Wilkesboro. I've got a meeting with Lowe's. How far is North Wilkesboro from Charlotte? After our meeting with Lowe's they are taking us for a tour of their racing facility which I assume is right outside Charlotte at the NASCAR track so I'll be flying into Charlotte, driving to North Wilksboro, driving back to the tour and then to the airport. How far do you think North Wilksboro is from Charlotte airport?

hmm, don't own that book :( YET!! but that is interesting....maybe that is why it is by the brain...protection!!

RussC..

I have been here for about 23 years.. Most of my life.

If I can remember correctly.. North Wilksboro is a good 2 hour drive from charlotte without traffic.

You are talking about the Lowe's motor speedway.. That is north of charlotte (in Concord, right outside of charlotte). I have never been there but I heard it is nice..

That's it, Typhon. I had figured about 2 hours. Thanks.

Lunchbucket, the reason my clam is by the brain is because that is the only place I had room to put it on the sand. Interesting theory, though. Are clams and brains fround in the same habitat in the wild?

Well, LB, I moved my clam away from the brain but the darn thing moved back over by the brain. Wouldn't you know it.

I doubt the clam likes the company of the brain. More likely that position has better lighting.

I couldn't imagine three inches makes that much of a difference. I will move it again to night.

Very interesting to say the least. If anything, it has moved towards the flow and now has turned away from the glass. Where it once was up against the glass now it opens to the back. Just my luck, I can't see it as well. This guy is a butt! Still beautiful as all get out, though.
