Good tips. I've googled and read and I agree it's probably this. I only feed my tank 3x a week so there is a good shot he's not getting enough food. I will increase feedings this week to 2x daily and see how that affects my nutrients. My water quality is good. Just tested today. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0.001ppm, Nitrate 1pm, Phosphate 0.02ppm. I'm doing SPS so I am trying to keep my nutrients low. With that said, I only have test frags in there now and they are doing OK.
Here's what I am feeding tomorrow.
PE Mysis Shrimp fortified with Phyto.
BRS Reef Chili.
Tomorrow night I'll just do Mysid and some Pellets from Sustainable Aquatics's hatchery diet and do that for the rest of the week then go back to PE, Phyto and Reef Chili on Friday.
I'll keep everyone posted.

what test kit are you testing with .001ppm nitrites and 1pm nitrates. thats some very precise numbers, too precise imo
also you can train your goby to eat right out of a turkey baster . my fish eat too fast for my goby, so i have to feed him like a baby![]()
Mine eats out of a baster. I have Hannah Ultra Low Range checkers for Nitrite and NYOS for Nitrate. I trust them.
oh i wasnt saying they are wrong, just saying your being to cautious about your number, dont starve your fish because your afraid to over feed.
yes i been there, my first tak many years ago i tested everything every day. you will learn what works for you. just dont do anything drastic, slow changes are better than fast. unless everything is dying anyway.
Excellent! Glad to hear that
I forgot to mention earlier in this thread that since your tank is cycled you no longer need to test for ammonia or nitrites, UNLESS there is a problem. Once a tank is cycled they are a non issue.
What is important now are
Nitrates
Phosphates
Ca
Mg
Kh
AND of course sg
