Is my mushroom ok?

I get some really vibrant mushrooms sometimes, but ususally they are quite brown.. Is this normal? In the tank I bought them from, under MH light, they were quite neon green and stayed like that for a while in my tank..

I have a 12g nano and evil par 38 lighting.

Wonder why most of the hobbyist that switch to LED jump back to MH within the first year?
