Is 'Quick Joe Instant Ice Melter' ok to use in "Randy's 2-part suppliment system"?

I've been wanting to make my own 2-part additive for alk and calcium described in the http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php link. But I haven't been able to find Dowflakes, Dow Mini-Pellets, Prestone Driveway Heat or Peladow Calcium Chloride anywhere near where I live. Then, lo-and-behold, I stop in at a local 'quickie-mart' to buy lottery tickets (yeah, that's my retirement strategy ;) ), and see "Quick Joe Instant Ice Melter" for sale in 10 lb bags for $5.49 a bag. Always curious, I peruse the package, and much to my surprise, it says "calcium chloride"! So, I write down the name, and the companies website, and visit the link:

It's got the line "Qik Joe Ice Melt, Calcium Chloride Pellets (Peladow), is the best ice melter available. ". So, is this safe to use in the 2 part dosing system? I'd rather not use my reef (only a 29 gallon, but I like it!) as a laboratory to test it out if it's gonna kill everything. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, that's what I figured, but I'm just a bit chicken about adding 'things' to my reef. Guess I could give it a try, just keep my fingers crossed. ;)

Related tip for folks in the Pacific Northwest - you can find repackaged peladow sold as dri-Z-air. See www.drizair.com.

The home depot here in Redmond, WA sells it in 13oz bags for $0.98. Which is good since we don't ever get driveway ice and it's too dang cold for big pool supply stores.
