Is this Aptasia?

I have this beautiful encrusting monti loving my system

And I found this guy on it.

Does this look like aptasia to you? If so, can I inject it with Lemon Juice or got any other ideas?

Google "aiptasia" and see if thats what you have.. I can't see anything in the pic that resembles one..
or get a better pic without the blue lights on and in focus..

I use aiptasia X and keep it on hand. I've got more aiptasia than I care to count. I recently got a matted file fish but he's not started eating them very well yet. Think I'm going to pick up a pair of peppermint shrimp, they're hit or miss but I'm more worried if my Yellow Candy Hogfish will eat them or not.

well maybe try a natural method before you go adding chemicals try pepermint shrimp or some types of file fish and on the bright side if you add anything that has it in the future they eat it

I used to be very bored due to a ton of aiptasia. Finally, I put a copper banded butterfly and he cleaned very well.

I'm not sure, but be careful, your hogfish may kill the peppermint. Please see:

I'm aware of the possibility of the hogfish eating shrimp so I'm taking the chance with the peppermints to see if it eats them or not. I would like to add a skunk cleaner shrimp but these guy's will be the guinea pigs :lmao: Skunk cleaner shrimp are like $30 ish each and peppermint's are less than $10

Hard to see in the photo but they don't look much like aptasia to me...I just killed a bunch on my LR. I injected with vinegar using an insulin needle, which is a very fine needle. When they retreated into holes in the rock I stuck the needle right in with them and kept squirting. It seemed to work. I used about 1cc/aptasia. IDK what that will do to your pH though.

Now that I'm looking at it more it looks like some kind of tube worm. I'm currently leaving my lights off for a few days to see how my corals react and its receded into a tube like
A feather duster would. I have some aiptasia X anyway just in case

Having a small brown algae breakout and some paleing of SPS corals so I figured they could use a break. I did some research and no one has had bad results with a Lights out period for a few days. In fact they reported better coloring and polyp extension, so I'm trying it!

Gotcha... I thought you were trying to do it to kill the aiptasia.

All. I have ruled out aptasia. It's some kind of weird Feather duster or tube worm. It came out when the blue lights came back on. I shined a flashlight on it to get a better look and it went right back in it's little tube.

You can get an orange or red jell filter for your flashlight and then you will be able to shine it on your tank after lights out and see all what's going on.
