I got a torch a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to be doing well until yeaterday. It was closed up and today it has this stuff on one side. I have two other torches that seem fine. Is there anything I can do?

yes it is... i just dealt with this recently. The temporary fix is to iodine dip and syphon out the jelly everyday or twice a day to stop it from spreading but this method really only slows the process down. Eventually everything will recede. Only permanent fix is to use non over the counter antibiotics and or fragging the infected area off. Although this route is risky and you may lose the coral if it doesn't survive the fragging. There are some good posts out there that go over this and i've combed through ALL of them in my search for a cure. From everything i've read this is the only real fix out there.

Fragging branching types is obviously easy... when it is a wall type or single head, almost impossible but few have been successful. Real tough to not further damage the living tissue during the process especially when trying to "round off" sharp edges so it doesn't damage the tentacles further afterwards.

Most cases by time you see the jelly, it's already too late unless you WFH or something and can luckily stare at your setup all day long.

So here are the two meds that I've heard work to stop BJD:

Doxycycline Hyclate
Mix 1/4 teaspoon for 10g and put that water and the hammer in a bag overnight.

Furan (not as good as doxy)
1/4 teaspoon for 10g. Same treatment.
