Is this calcium chloride any good?

Anyone have any experience with this? It says it's 83-87% pure.

I believe that is one of the brands that many people have used. Even though it says it is 83-87% pure, most of the impurity is water. And most of the rest is potassium and sodium chlorides.

There's been a lot of discussion about the bromide content. Searching the chemistry forum for dowflake returned a bunch of hits. Searching for bromide and dowflake got the bromide discussion pretty well.

DowFlake Xtra should be fine. It does have a bit more bromide than the older version.
