Is this normal?

Hey!
I just added a Peacock Mantis to the 10 gallon tank I've set up for it. The tank has been set up for over a month, and has a small clownfish and some hermit crabs in it. I put these animals in there to help cycle the tank. The parameters of the tank are fine, all well within their tolerances.
I acclimated the mantis for about an hour, then added him to the tank. Since I added him, he's just been sitting on the bottom not really doing anything. He cleans his antenna sometime and the fins under his tail are moving, but that's all. Is this normal behavior for a Peacock? Every other mantis that I've had has always seemed fine after I added him to the tank. Please let me know, I'm very concerned about him. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't worry until you have gone through at least one or two days. If the animal can maintain a normal posture, that is good. If it rolls over on its side or back, that is very bad. I would turn off the lights and leave it alone. It is probably just stressed. If not, at this point there really isn't much that you could do anyway. As long as you acclimated it to temperature and salinity very slowly, that is all you can do.
