Is this too much?

I just bought a Dolphin 2000 that pumps 35g/min. It's for my new 120g tank, I have a durso with a 1"drain and I have a Wavy sea that's connected as well as a reliable check valve.
Can I split the return with a T and will that lower the return? it's shooting 4' up. is the drain enough?

Yes that to much for 1X 1" pipe. The pump does 2100gph and needs 1.89 inches of drain. I would just do 2 X 1' drain at least. Yes a t with a valve that runs back to the sump will cut down the flow but if your going to do that just get a small pump with less watts.
