Is water level critical to a Coralife 65 skimmer used 'in sump'?

I'm having a bit of trouble getting it tuned right, and was wondering if the water level in the sump makes a difference. Right now it's sitting in about 7 to 8 inches of water. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I think it depends on whether the water level in the sump fluctuates. If not it shouldn't make a difference at 7 to 8 inches.

the biggest thing with those skimmers is you want he pump no more then about 3-4" under the water.. Skimmer body doesn't matter so much.. But if the pump is to deep you want get many bubbles.. If its to shallow the skimmer will overflow..HTH
