It`s All Their Fault!

That`s right I blame them.

Ok not just them alone, but definitely them for the most part. ;)
It`s because of threads like Weatherson`s, Melev`s, dmiannay & Waterkeeper that inspired me to attempt what I am attempting.
Setting up a 72gl. bowfront for a mixed reef.

Weatherson for his stunning in-wall 240, (his craftmanship has to be on the master level.)
Melev for the dedication and care he gives to his livestock. (truly great with his ingenuity & husbandry.)
dmiannay for his electrical setup. (blows me away!) & reading about the trials and tribulations he and his wife have gone through on HisReef.
Waterkeeper for his easy to understand (for the most part heh heh) and humorously written newbie threads. (I learned more from his threads that any book I have EVER read.)

Also of tremendous inspiration were fellow C.O.M.A.S. members, pwhitby, TimV and Lazyreefer.

The tank is an AGA RR. Great overflow design IMO. Only wish it was in the middle of the tank.
Here are a few pictures to whet your appitite.

The 1st one is of the tank and stand right after we brought it home. Thanks guys for the help! You know who you are. :D

This one shows how I ran the pvc for the drain and return.

Here we go with the tank set in the spot it is to be setup in. I have the sump in place but not plumbed yet. You can also see the temporary canopy that I just tossed together to hold the MH reflectors and moguls until I can constuct a permanent one. I plan to DIM, *Do It Myself* and skin the stand to match. All will be finished in a nice cherry finish.

The last one I have for right now is right after I moved all the livestock from the 55gl that I have had setup for almost 2 years.

Picture quality is poor I will admit. I had to borrow my Mother-in-laws digital camera to even be able to have any pics, since mine took up asphalt surfing. :(

Still lots to do yet but just wanted to share, and thank those responsible for inspiring me.

Very special thanks to capnskunk of http://exoticaquaticsonline.com/
without whom none of this would have been possible.
You rock Slone!

I think he is referring to my new thread "Beat the Heat this Summer. WaterKeeper Shows You How to Install Screen Windows on Your Tank and Keep It Cool."
:D

Thanks Greg for giving us honorable mention! After having received so much inspiration and knowledge from Melev, Weatherson, Waterkeeper, and a host of others Cathy and I were able to create a homegrown marine environment that truly gives back to us all we'd hoped.

This community is all about give and take and after getting so much from so many when we started it only seemed right to give something back. I'm gratified you were inspired by all we experienced. I'm certainly thrilled for you and your 72 bowfront endeavor and hope that all you've learned here helps make the experience a bit more understandable and trouble-free.

Blessings my friend!

Hey there is one I haven`t read yet :D
Have a link?
Do you use the same principle used to install screen doors on submarines?

That is my hope as well

You are so right about that.

Looking good. Next time I'm in Norman I may have to stop by and check it out. I would like to see how you did the plumbing.

As you know, I rarely use this phrase, but it seems appropriate in this thread:

Tagging along! :bounce3:

Btw, if this is your official thread, you might want to get the title spelt ryte. Even though the rule is 'I before E, except after C", in this case the word is spelled "their". ;)

Good job on the contraction It's.

Greg,
Thanks for the acknowledgement. It's good to see the "giving back" continuing and I look forward to following your progress. Looks like a great start.

Ok Marc, I guess I have you to "blame" for my spelling now!!

HaHaHa.

Thanks for the

JR719 you are welcome to come by. Let me know when you can make it.

Small update.
Started cutting the pieces for the canopy today.
If I can borrow a camera I will post some pics later.

Aren't you out of your element in this forum, Mr Keeper? ;)

Now I know why I'm not allowed to post in this forum. Not only do you have to know something but you have to spell whatever you DO know right. :D

Well, whilst you are here Tom, please correct the spelling for this fine thread. We prefer to type in a civilized tongue, where all that gaze upon our writings will relish their confabulatory musings.

Be it far from me to affront the distinguished assemblage of the Reef Discussions Forum and beg you don't direct your wrath upon my lowly personage. Using the meager powers bestowed on me I have correct the flagrant error in syntax. Now away go I to harass some neophyte aquarist.

Yikes (Egads), I'm starting to sound like Wizard G. :D

Repaired nothing, have ye! Arise and with eyes ascending, take heed to the erroneous verbage that continues to plague this gentle community so boldly. With shortened breathes, we gasp with each new moment knowing that other gentlemen and womenfolk have to endure such hardships.

Work, man, work! Resolve this now, so we can put this behind us for today, and for eternity.

Whoops, made corrections in the wrong place. I told you I had meager powers but it is more likely feeble editing skills.

P.S. All this is keeping this post at the top of the forum isn't it Marc? Nothing like bumping our own compliments. ;)
