That`s right I blame them.
Ok not just them alone, but definitely them for the most part.
It`s because of threads like Weatherson`s, Melev`s, dmiannay & Waterkeeper that inspired me to attempt what I am attempting.
Setting up a 72gl. bowfront for a mixed reef.
Weatherson for his stunning in-wall 240, (his craftmanship has to be on the master level.)
Melev for the dedication and care he gives to his livestock. (truly great with his ingenuity & husbandry.)
dmiannay for his electrical setup. (blows me away!) & reading about the trials and tribulations he and his wife have gone through on HisReef.
Waterkeeper for his easy to understand (for the most part heh heh) and humorously written newbie threads. (I learned more from his threads that any book I have EVER read.)
Also of tremendous inspiration were fellow C.O.M.A.S. members, pwhitby, TimV and Lazyreefer.
The tank is an AGA RR. Great overflow design IMO. Only wish it was in the middle of the tank.
Here are a few pictures to whet your appitite.
The 1st one is of the tank and stand right after we brought it home. Thanks guys for the help! You know who you are.
This one shows how I ran the pvc for the drain and return.
Here we go with the tank set in the spot it is to be setup in. I have the sump in place but not plumbed yet. You can also see the temporary canopy that I just tossed together to hold the MH reflectors and moguls until I can constuct a permanent one. I plan to DIM, *Do It Myself* and skin the stand to match. All will be finished in a nice cherry finish.
The last one I have for right now is right after I moved all the livestock from the 55gl that I have had setup for almost 2 years.
Picture quality is poor I will admit. I had to borrow my Mother-in-laws digital camera to even be able to have any pics, since mine took up asphalt surfing.
Still lots to do yet but just wanted to share, and thank those responsible for inspiring me.
Very special thanks to capnskunk of http://exoticaquaticsonline.com/
without whom none of this would have been possible.
You rock Slone!
