jawfish quarantine

I have ordered a jawfish and was wondering about the best way to acclimate him (or her?)

we have a quarantine tank set up which has two bengai cardinals chillin for about a week now. They are doing well, so I think it is ok to move them to my tank. But the jawfish needs sand right? The quarantine tank has pvc pipes for fish to hide and nothing else.

Shall i put him in my "real" tank ( 55 long, 20 gallon sump- of course sand and live rock) right away or in the quarantine tank?

-Thanks for your help:rollface:

fished should be qted for 4 to six weeks, trust me its worth the wait, it sounds like your in a pinch, if you cant set up a second qt for the new fish, i would add him to the qt, but you risk spreading any desease to all three fish, if they have any deases that is

wow, 4 to 6 weeks. Is this because it could take this long to know if they are diseased?

also, can you quarantine a jawfish with No sand?

yes 4-6 , some deseases can should later, i would think a jawfish could be keep without sand in a qt, i would put some pv tubes or some LR for him to him in/around
