When: July 30th, 12:00 noon
Where: Straw Hat Pizza, 1238 N. Main St. (Corner of Main & Lancaster)
Topic:
This month Steve Robinson, formerly of Cortez Marine will be our guest. Steve will be speaking on and showing slides regarding the fish industry in the aquarium trade, where our fish come from, some of the less than ethical ways they are collected, and the impact of all this on wild reefs. Everyone will truly get a behind the scenes view of how the fish trade works.

If you'd like to read Steve's bio go to: www.nvreefers.org/events.php

As usual everybody can grab some pizza, salad, or sandwhiches for lunch and there will be a raffle following Steve's presentation. We have items from new sponsors this month to raffle away, and have more goodies in the works. Check out the list here and remember items in BLUE = cool  these are items that the club will be raffling in this and other upcoming meetings.

Happy Reefing Everyone
Jacob.

Steve is a great speaker and I've seen his presentations before and they are very informative Steve is a great guy and is doing alot and has done alot for the hobby and to help eliminate Cyanide catching...

I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend though as of yet.. I might be getting out of the hobby,..

Not formally from Cortez Marine, formally from Cortez Marine Wholesale ;) Two different business's, and he still owns the original Cortez Marine (just not the equipment that now makes up CMW) and will be shipping from Baja this tuesday under that company name. He's been in Baja on a collection trip this last week, Cortez Marine rises again :D

Red epizoanthids anyone? non photosythetic, brilliant red and eat cyclop-eeze like no ones business. You can stick these puppies in zero light, and they'll still maintain their color ;)

Interesting... Check out the BAR forum I'm selling all my livestock might be something your interested in..

Greater bay area local fish stores have been quite generous this month and we have a number of sweet corals to raffle off at the 7/30 meeting. Pictures to follow.

I'm going to try and be there.. I'm thinking of keeping a small nano setup(20g w/20g sump 250w MH and a euroreef) should work well. Jesus it's all your fault..=)

Wow! Gotta love our sponsors, these guys really do hook it up for us! And with the speakers and projects we have lined up for the next few months, the club is only getting better and better. I can't wait until we can afford to have some of the 'big guys' come out and speak to the group, thanks to our sponsors we're on track to that goal. :D

I'll updated the donation list (remember items in blue are what we have currently!), and there may be more to come (from me, Twins Aquarium, and Discount Pet) later this week.
