Thank you to everybody for voting me as July's Nano Tank of the Month. I have been working toward this since I got my tank last year.

I received my tank from my brother's boss June 2007. The tank is a JBJ Nano Cube 12. When I got the tank it had a JBJ K2 150w Viper on it. In September, I added 2-24 watt Helios T5HO III for actinics. In December I put on a Rio Nano Skimmer, which was replaced in February when I added a 5.5 gallon sump above the tank. The sump has a hole drilled in bottom right corner for a gravity-fed return, and a Rio 200 supplies the sump with water from the tank. In the sump I have an ASM Mini-G Protein Skimmer and rock rubble for mounting frags. In April I replaced my Viper light with an Aquamedic Oceanlight 250. I bought a fan from Target that points at the lights to keep them and the tank cool. Temperature is between 76-79 throughout the day. I have a nano powerhead from Fraggle Reef which is the only circulation since the main pump in the back went out a couple of months ago. I run 1/2 cup of Kent Reef Carbon monthly, and perform a 1.5 gallon water change weekly with Instant Ocean salt. Specific Gravity is 1.026.

I supplement with ESV's B-ionic Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium buffers daily. I add 7.5 ml of Calcium, 5 ml of Alkalinity, and 7.5 ml of Magnesium every day. This keeps my parameters at 450 ppm CA, 9-10 dKH Alk, and 1350-1400 ppm Magnesium. I stopped adding iodine several months ago.

I have two fish in the tank - a Bangaii Cardinal and a Blue Lightning Wrasse. I feed them Spirulina flakes every couple of days.

I have about 3-5 snails and 2-3 hermit crabs in there, as well as one Emerald Crab. I also have two tridacnid clams, one Derasa, and one Crocea. The Crocea had a commensal shrimp living inside of it for a while, but it died a few months ago.

Very nice. Those acans, zoas, and duncans are the icing on the cake.Do you have any closeups and a list of some of those acros? Some of those look good as well.

I haven't ever taken pictures of my equipment, but I will take some in the next couple of days and post them.

The only named Acropora I have right now is the Pink Jade. I have a few named Montiporas which I listed in the first post. Most of my acros I am unsure of what species they are. I have a Blue Millepora, a pink acro with bushy tan polyps, a forest green acro with pink tips, and a brown acro in the back that was brilliant when I bought it. The tips on the brown acro are starting to grow in white with blue tips. I will get some pictures posted of some of the acros later tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you like my tank :). The nTOTM contest is run a month in advance, IE voting for August's nTOTM occurs in July, and the voting for my tank took place in June. I have a post stickied at the top of the forum for August nTOTM entries which will be voted on later this month. So far there is only one entry, so post your tank!

It is an ASM Mini-G rated for up to 80 gallons. I have a friend with a 90 gallon stocked full with the same skimmer.

Thanks again :).

xcon - You are probably referring to the Duncans in the middle, and while they are not anemones they still have nematocycsts. My duncans are very passive, and have never killed anything by stinging it (barely left a wound in fact, they are usually the ones that take the beating). Even so, I try to keep the stuff I can't live without out of the range of getting stung.

I use Instant Ocean. I test each bucket when it is new by mixing 5 gallons to a SG of 1.026 to see what I need to add supplement wise. I buffer CA to 450-500, and MG and KH are usually okay but I will sometimes have to buffer MG to 1350-1400.

Belated congrats Echidna! When you say packed, you mean PACKED full of corals! How do you like the ASM Mini, I have one but have yet to set it up. Did you modify it in anyway? How much skimmate does it pull in a day?

Also, what Kelvin is your halide burning at?
