Topic: Coral Propagation Workshop

When: Saturday, June 30th, 12:00 Noon

Where: To Be Announced

This June we'll be featuring one of our most popular meeting events - the coral propagation workshop. This is a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the techniques and tools needed to propagate your corals by fragging them. When done properly both the mother colony and the frag will live a long healthy life and you can give/trade/sell your frags to fellow hobbyists.

We'll be fragging up donted corals. We expect to have corals from a wide range that will include soft corals, large polyp stonies, and small polyp stonies. Attendees can choose which table or tables they want to participate in, the format is casually structred with one volunteer leader per table. All of the frags produced will be raffled off, the last time we did this there were over 100 frags - don't miss out!

As always the event and raffle are open to all who wish to attend, new members and visitors are always welcome.

Due to the use of power tools, clippers, and potential for mess we will not be meeting at the brewery, stay tuned for the location specifics.

Awesome. My new schedule came out today...I'm off then too. Looking forward to it, and meeting everyone. :)

Yep, that's how we roll up here :) Plus we outgrew the pizza place pretty quick... in fact we're pushing the limits at Valley Brewery lately.

Here's some NVR Trivia for you, how many homebrewers are there in the club?

a) 3
b) 5
c) 7

I'm gonna go with 5.

No thanks, I here bad things happen to people who go to Tonga.:D

I bet you the number is closer to five. You only know of three homebrewers, the rest won't admit it because moonshine is illegal.

The correct answer is 3. Me, BDimas, and Plankton. It's too bad you didn't get it right, the prize was an all inclusive vacation to Tonga.

UPDATE

Topic: Coral Propagation Workshop

When: Saturday, June 30th, 12:00 Noon

Where: 523 West Harney Lane, Lodi 95240

This is very close to Kalypso Aquatics. We will be using the lawn area and parking lot in their shopping center.

The last time we did this the club was much smaller and we had a BBQ hosted by one of our members. We're getting a little too big for that now, but we would still like to have a BBQ lunch if there is interest. We'll need a head count (either respond here or email eventcoordinator@nvreefers.org) for you and any guests who want lunch. The price of lunch will be $5 for a burger or dog, side, and a drink.

So far we have 1 set of fragging tools including a dremmel, we need a couple volunteers to bring their tools for the day, specifically bone shears and scalpels. If you can bring your tools please email me: president@nvreefers.org

If anyone has a table they can bring it that will help too. We know that we'll have a few tables, just how many is uncertain at the moment. If you can bring a table (or chairs) please email sponsorcoordinator@nvreefers.org

There will likely be a ton of frags which will be raffled. If you plan to participate in the raffle bring a styrofoam box or cooler to put your frags in (I'll be surprised if anyone who enters the raffle does not walk away with one or more frags).

Luke! Long time no see.

Lak, thanks for bringing your tools. Between you and Bryan and the tools we already have that should be plenty of tools.
