Kaserpick's Neo Update:

Keeping it Simple
Hey guys!

I'm not a huge fan of posting over and over again in a specific thread, only because it can be a pain to look at the pictures and find what's new. These shots are of the Neo-Nano SPS/Clam Reef. After the pics, there is a link that will take you to my original thread if you'd like to see the equipment and setup.

Note: There are about 4 aptasia in the tank, and until I buy a couple of peppermint shrimp, they'll remain. Sorry! Also, I'm a bad photographer, but I'm trying. Some of the shots came out way too blue...other than that, the colors are very true to what you would see in person. Hope you enjoy!

Wow, you've got a really nice tank there. I couldn't tell how small the tank was until the final FTS. That's amazing.

Now I need to go take a look at your build thread.

Thanks Chem-e! I really appreciate the kind words! I now realize that my build thread is lacking on the specs...I kinda just jumped in with the pics.

Tank Spec's and Equipment
Tank: 24"x24"x12" DSA Neo-Nano
Skimmer: Bubble King Mini 180
Return: Maxi-Jet Utility Pump (I forget the model)
Heater: Titanium remote 250w
Lighting: 6x24w ATI PM (4 Blue+, 2 Fiji Purple)
Flow: (2) MP40w Vortechs (way too much, but I like flow. :p)
Dosing: (3) Litermeter III's for the Ca+, Mg, and Alk. (2) Litermeter III's might be added for constant WC's and another will be added for an auto-feeder.
ATO: Tunze ATO ran w/ Kalkwasser solution
Filtration: 30lb LR and TLF Phosban Reactor w/ 1.5c of GAC

Fish
Twin Spot Hogfish
Lyretail Anthias (I believe)
2 Fathead Anthias (in another tank at the moment)
Clown Fairy Wrasse (another tank at the moment)
*(I'm also thinking about trading the wrasse (kinda mean), and putting 3 threadfin, flame, or orange striped cardinals in it's stead. I'll see, after I put the fatheads in there.)

Corals and Inverts
40 species of SPS, including montis, acros, and serias
5 LPS colonies including acan lords, and duncans (I'd like 2 nice fungias)
8 palythoa morphs
4 T. Croceas
4 T. Maximas
2 T. Derasas (will eventually go into my 90 once I restart it)
Cleaner Shrimp (with a few peppermints on the way)

Theme
This tank is my 'Seed Tank' for my 90g (36"x36"x18"). Once the tank completely fills out, I'll move the two rock structures in the 90g (after testing some coral). The corals were epoxied and a few of them should be quite easy to remove, even after a year.

alright kasey now its time for a top you wouldnt want to lose those nice little wrasses youve got there.

oh and i got a really nice McCoskers flasher from jeff hes lookin killer.

looks great!! love the selection of clams

Thanks! I'm loving the clams as well. I'm thinking about getting a small piece of rock so they have room toward the top...I want those croceas closer to the light and off the glass. I'm still looking for one more nice T. Maxima. :)

Haha! Yeah, let's hope they don't jump, cause the whole reason I choose shallow tanks is to view from the top.

I'm glad to hear you got your McCoskers!

Stunning as usual Kasey!
Really sweet little reef you got going there, keep the updates coming:)

How do you like the twin spot, looks like a beautiful fish. I've been thinking about getting one for my sps dominated 34g. Thanks

Thanks Perry! I'm hoping for some updates soon; I've got my eye on another T. Maxima...I'm thinking one or two more clams. I'd also like to add two coco-worms, a harlequin serpent star and others, a few feather dusters (pinks and yellows). I really want a beautiful group of inverts.

Tank look awesone.

Thank you very much. :)

Nice looking tank-beautiful clams!!

Thank you, Thodoris! I'll be very pleased if this turns out half as beautiful and full as your reef.

I love it! It's one of my favorite fish. I had one in my 65g, but when I sold the rock, he decided to hide in it. Later that night the guy found him in the bottom of the bucket in cold water. He left him there overnight and took it to his LFS. When I got him back, he had already been infected by a parasite. Anyway, it's very peaceful, loves all kinds of foods, great for hunting pests...a beautiful fish to keep all around.

very nice

Thanks! :D

I realyy like that tank, and the Hogfish. You say they will go after pests? Do you mean like flatworms and stuff like many Wrasses do?

Thank you! Yes, I've seen my old one go after flatworms before. The one I have now spends all day looking closely at the rocks and picking pods...you'll even notice him (or her) checking under the clams hoping to find something. They're great fish and very beneficial in my opinion. It's also a great way to bring a vibrant yellow to the tank. :)

Beautiful tank. Dont know if you have answered this but how high do you have your lights?(above water line)
