Kent in art like this there is no right or wrong way to understand the meaning. This one I think could be quite simple to get. There are only two things in the painting, tie them together and make up the meaning. Let me show you. First, the shirt. Red and white stripes make me think of the flag. Bold and solid, easy to notice. The two egg next to each other might stand for the "Male" factor. The "male" component might mean dominant, strong, leading and so on. So if the shirt is a flag the eggs are the stars.
Perhaps the artist has a whole other meaning for this painting. But to me this one means patriotic.
i'm biased towards the artist:lolspin:. i usually go to most of the western new york art shows . my mom's art varies quite a bit. i really like what she's been doing lately. i think she calls it abstract impressionalism?
haha that takes quite a bit of doing for me-like writers block. But when i see stuff like winded swept tree-in the linky-it inspires me. Maybe this summer when i go to my buddies camp in the adirondacks I could set up an easel and get to it. Everytime I go to my rents i am reminded that hey I can still paint and better than I ever have. My last 2 paintings came out better than I expected and I had yet to do that degree of work. Abstract I do abstract.
Oh the meaning? It was a still life-the thig about it is that sometimes art grows a meaning. That one sits in front of our bed and you are right about the male figure and the other is my wife. The shirt is a sea and the sea is our lives. We are riding out the storm of our lives, fragile as we may be!
