Alrighty, how do I start this; it has been a while.
I'm getting back into the hobby after being away for a year and a half. I ended up choosing the 8.4g Harse Design after seeing it being raffled at FFM. I guess FFM was the kick I needed to get back in lol. Anyways, the day after FFM I got in contact with The Reef Shoppe and asked them about the tank at FFM and that I wanted one like that, but with a little customization. Before I go forward, The Reef Shoppe is the store and Harse Design is a different company that makes the acrylic tank. So today I was in the city and I chose to pick up the tank on my way there.
Enough said, here is the pic of the tank.

The customization I asked them to do was to have three chambers in the overflow instead of two. The reason why I chose three it's because my first chamber will have carbon and a pad of poly filter, the second chamber will have chaeto and the third chamber will be for my return pump.
Now as for lighting, I decided to get a radion for it and it will be mounted with radion RMS kit. The frag tank will be for corals only. Since the tank is an all in one I know the potential problems that can happen, but I've found the solution to evade them.
The tank should be up and running by tomorrow night. My light its supposed to arrive sometime this week.
While I was at The Reef Shoppe I spotted a cool mushroom that I needed to have and in the process of getting it I forgot to grab another coral I saw, but here is the pic of the shroom. I don't even have a tank up and running, but I already have livestock, that's funny.
Here is a pic of the shroom I got next to its best friend. The shroom I got its wild and there is no name for it so what's better than this. Here I present you, FUP&A Lightning Mushroom :celeb1: P.S. It's not fully open yet lol.

Thanks for holding my corals Franky!
Enjoy.

Yeah, Friday works too. I will try to keep my parameters equal with my top off water. I will not use RO as top off, I will top it off with saltwater. The plan is to have a smal 5 or 10g tank hidden in the stand with a small power head and a heater to keep the water warm as in the tank and circulating. On top of that I will have chaeto to help lower my phosphate since it works. More to come tonight when I set it up.

Kevin, nice little tank.

Might I suggest, if you will have a hidden container to simply have a constant water change running? Use a a dosing pump and run it at a slow pace to keep with XX% change per week. I am not sure how fast the water will evap in your home but it may evap faster than the slow constant water change.

2 containers, one with fresh salt water, and one with old water. I am assuming you are counting in for evap water minus salt? You will still need a sort of fresh water supply or you will slowly raiser your salinity to a dangerous level for your inhabitants. But I am more than sure you are already aware of this so apologies if im stating the obvious.

One thing to note, please ensure you keep the overflow clean as there is no space between the false wall and outer walls which could lead to a spill if teeth get enough algae growth on them.

Very interesting indeed

Thanks for the advise. The tank will look 100% clean since it'll be in the living room of my house.

IMO, this sounds very risky. It will be to hard to keep salinity at a constant (especially in a tank of that size). My evaporation is never the same rate ALL of the time. Why don't you want to just match your water change water parameters and then use the traditional RO ATO method?
