I have a piece of knopia that did really well for a few months, but had now dwindled down to only a few polyps.
I have had problems with low alk, but otherwise the parameters are all great (calc. 400, pH 8.1, salinity 1.025, nitrates > 2, phosphates undetectable). I am constantly battling keeping alk above 2.5 m/eq., even though mag. is fine. I am adding supplemnts to try to keep it up and stable. Could this be a big problem for it? Other corals (softies and LPS) are doing fine.
I have it under VHO lighting, fairly high in the tank in medium to high flow. Would it prefer something different?
I'd love to hear where yours have done well. Thanks
