Krylon Fusion - Reef safe?

It's supposed to be ok to submerge. I considered painting PVC as well but ordered some black PVC and fittings from Savco. I'm glad I did, IMO it was well worth the moderate extra cost.

Thanks, I will order from them as well. Didn't know where to get black PVC, and their prices are very reasonable anyway. Did you add any sort of nozzle to the end, or did you just leave the pvc open ended?

hiya Jay! i read that once the paint cures it should be inert, didn't read any neg beside those that Scott had mentioned. also, i couldn't find black PVC but only black fittings and black FlexPVC on there site, seems odd to me, but if u find it please post a link :)

I have two 1 1/2" pipes that run the length of the aquarium from one end to the other as two of the four returns from my closed loop. At the end I have a 1 1/2" to 3/4" threaded bushing that transitions to Loc-Line.

I've done it before, but it started to peel after about a year. No harm to any inhabitants, just unsightly.
Same with a bit of mine that I did for my frag tank, but it's been 3-4 years and still holding up pretty good. I think you need to get a moderately wet coat on it to get it to bond and cut into the pvc, but that's just a hunch.

Thanks all... sounds like it would be ok but I'm going for the black pvc. My new tank came today but I haven't found a stand yet, so I have a little time to wait for the pvc to come in :)
