Large angels in a reef

What angels has anyone tried and successfully have in a reef I have a 125 with some zoos and shrooms and some leathers not much inthere yet.

Right now I have a blue face angel in with my sps's.

My tank is stocked with leathers and mushrooms with no problems. I have heard stories of large angels eatings zoos like candy.

My imperator loves zoo's but prefers the nice ones and leaves green and brown ones alone. He also likes to eat star polyps

I've had him from juv.

My tank is mostly lps, clams but only a few softies (Mushrooms, rics, button polys, xenia and star ployps)

steveo32, do you have a QT?

Put your new angel in QT first get him used to stuff like the frozen angel formula and nori. Then put him into the display, keep him well fed, and he is less likely to nip at other stuff.

dchao that sounds like a good idea. From what I 've heard, if you keep hem fat and happy there less likely to pick at stuff. I would like to try a queen, because there really nice looking. But if you guys have any suggestions I'm open to them

i recently had a blue face, an emperor, red sea regal and a pair of genicanthus in the same tank with no problems, ,they were all place in the tank as Juvis, great reef residents, did not even touch my zoos, which was the reason for me getting the regal.

SteveO if i were you i would go ahead and try the queen in your reef, the large angels have a better reef reputation than the dwarf angels.

it certainly goes against common reefing wisdom, don't you think?

yeah well, we need to start thinking out of the glass box.

But it has been my experience, when i kept centropyge angels and other dwarf angels, they were terrors, but at the same time every fish has its own personality so is hit or miss, but yoru best bet is to start off with a juvi.

Im w/ julio on that. I like doing the not so recomended things and seems to work out better some times.

I havea queen, coral beauty, blueface, and flameangel in a 110 reef. I have leathers, zina, mushrooms, bubbles and zoes. No problems.

I would just LOVE to get a Imperator or a Regal. not sure which.
But!!!, my tank is filled with LPS, such as blastos, acans, echinos and open brains. i think it's just too much of a risk.

If u were to get an angel for your LPS dominated reef, would it be a regal or imperator?

Why not try a Navarchus? they relatively safe with LPS. My regal wont' touch any of my LPS, but my blue face did.
